Dr. Chaffin, Director of Academic Initiatives for the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning, will discuss the research around the Academic Research Colloquium, Financial Planning Review, and his book, Client Psychology. Dr. Chaffin defines client psychology in his book as the biases, behaviors, and perceptions that impact client decision-making and financial well-being, is taking on greater importance as the transactional component of the profession disappears through technology.

Dr. Chaffin is Director of Academic Initiatives with the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning, including the Academic Research Colloquium; Founding Executive Editor of the new academic journal, Financial Planning Review; editor of the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning Book series; co-director of the Wharton-CFP Board Client Psychology program, and the program lead of the Columbia University-CFP Board Teaching Program.
