Webinar 2018-308: Am I Doing The Right Thing? Client Anxieties Around Wealth Transfers and How To Help

Originally Recorded: February 2, 2018

Jim Grubman Webinar 2.2.18 from Financial Therapy Association on Vimeo.

Webinar Description:

Many clients seek the help of financial therapists concerning the complex questions involved in wealth transfers. These may include dilemmas around estate planning (fair vs equal with adult children of differing money skills or levels), gifting (wanting to provide financial support yet not wanting to demotivate heirs), and communication (wanting to disclose the plan yet never having done family communication around money). Advising these clients requires professionals to understand, assess, and manage the role of anxiety in different client subgroups. Dr. Jim Grubman, one of the founders of the field of financial psychology, will outline basic principles for understanding and helping clients approach wealth transfers successfully.
